Martha was a force of nature, but since moving to Dublin under mysterious circumstances, she can’t seem to find her footing.
Robin was the ‘it’ girl in school. Now she’s back at her parents’ with her four-year-old, vowing that her ex is out of the picture for good.
Edie has the perfect life, but she longs for a baby, the acceptance of her neighbours, and to find out why her dream husband is avoiding their dream future.
The friendships of these women will change their lives forever, revealing the secrets, rivalries and scandals that hide behind every door…
I loved this book so much!! Thank to Anne Cater and her Random Things Tours blogtours for the invite and also Corvus for my gifted review copy of ‘Three Little Truths’ which is available in paperback and ebook format from 03/10/2019.
Just to echo that , I love love LOVED ‘Three Little Truths’.
Alternating between the three main characters-Edie,Martha and Robin-and the street Whatsap chat, ostensibly set up about the poker meets but which involves almost everything but, Eithne Shortall has immaculately captured the nuances and issues of everyday life.
The arrival of a mysterious new family at the same time as rat holes have begun to appear in gardens, and newspapers have started disappearing(Whatsap solution-must be a Russian spy or in witness protection)heralds a new interest for those living on Pine Road.
But what is behind the sudden and dramatic move of Martha,Robert and their girls is slowly revealed as her friendship with first Edie, and then Robin, grows and the truths of their three lives becomes evident. Hiding behind the physical and mental brick facades, which each woman has constructed, are broken hearts, trauma and loss.
Written with a large dollop of humour and such an accurate note of authenticity in the dialogue, this is a wonderful, moving and heartseering story of real life. In all it’s bad decision making, hurried and stumbling over doing the right thing versus gut instinct, life is represented here, behind the doors of Pine Road.
Why has Robin fled with her son, Jack, back to her parents?
Why does Martha jump every time someone knocks the door?
Why does Edie put up with her fabulously vile in laws-honestly they are gruseome creations that sadly, I guarentee, every reader will relate to knowing …
And who keeps taking Rita Ann’s papers?
Thoroughly recommended to lovers of Marian Keyes, this is a book to hold close and adore!
