In the words of the inimitable RuPaul Charles…

…and WELCOME TO THE FIRST OF #DOMEVEMBER!!!

This month, the blog will -keep your fingers crossed , chaps!-be focussing on a daily dose of independent publisher love and highlighting the books and authors which make Dome Press the powerful and passionate, UK based indie that we love.

After starting the ball rolling in August with Eye Books, a slight faltering side step with Salt in what was going to be #Saltember (which will be making a re-appearance, watch this space), the #IndieBooksLoveFest rolls on with #Domevember.

Not just content with publishing original content, across a variety of genres, they also accept submissions too (currently closed at the moment so susbcribe to their newsletter and get ahead of the game for when they re-open) and with NaNoWriMo happening right now, this is a great wave of momentum to be riding.

They currently have great half price offers across their online shop , and with free p+p what’s not to love?

For the rest of the month, Friday will now be #FabFictionFriday, so let’s get comfortable and see if I can recommend you a great read to see off the first of #Domevember in style!

Released today!!!

Adrian Magson’s ‘Rocco’ series has been revised and re-released with its original titles restored.

Today is the release date of Book 4 in the series, ‘Death At The Clos Du Lac’ aka ‘Rocco And The Lake Of Secrets’ (ebook link below)

France, 1964.
The man was standing on the bottom of the therapy pool in the Clos du Lac sanitarium, his white cotton shirt billowing out like gossamer in the clear blue water…

At the exclusive Clos du Lac, a man is discovered standing in the therapy pool. But he is not there for his health; someone has chained him to the bottom, and left him there to die slowly.

Inspector Lucas Rocco believes it’s an unusual and elaborate method of execution, but finds that the inhabitants of the Clos du Lac are unwilling to talk. Nobody seems to have heard or seen anything, and the staff are resolutely unhelpful – or dead.

Meanwhile, ministry officials sent from Paris to ‘assist’ in the investigation attempt to impede Rocco’s efforts to find answers. It soon becomes clear the Clos du Lac is no ordinary sanitarium, and holds secrets the authorities feel are better left hidden. And with a high-level kidnapping mounted in an attempt to derail France’s new trade agreements with China, Rocco faces threats from more than one quarter… one of them a rogue government assassin.

Absolutely intriguing and whilst only available via Dome in Kindle edition at present, it still costs less than a large hot chocolate at your favourite establishment – so why not skip that lunchtime drink, pack a sandwich and take your own drink into work today and lose yourself for hours in 1960’s France?

About the author…

Adrian had written eighteen crime and spy thriller series built around Harry Tate, ex-soldier and MI5 officer:

“fast-paced, with more twists and turns than a high-octane roller coaster” New York Journal of Books

Inspector Lucas Rocco (set in 1960s’ Picardie in France):

Deserves to be ranked with the best” Daily Mail

“captures perfectly the rural atmosphere of France…. a brilliant debut…Books Monthly

and  Gavin & Palmer (investigative reporter Riley Gavin & ex- Military Policeman Frank Palmer)

“Gritty and fast-paced detecting of the traditional kind, with a welcome injection of realism”The Guardian.

Adrian also has countless short stories and articles in national and international magazines to his name plus a non-fiction work: Write On! – the Writer’s Help Book (Accent Press).

Adrian lives in the Forest of Dean, and rumours that he is building a nuclear bunker are unfounded. It is in fact, a bird table.

  1. Can I put in a plug for one of their newest books – In Two Minds by Alis Hawkins. Crime fiction set in 19th century Wales . This is book 2 in a series.

I tried to find the newsletter you mentioned but couldn’t find anything on their site about this. Can you point me in the right direction?

    1. Ah that is on me sorry, I read ‘Submissions’ as ‘subscribe’ !
There is a Crime Cymru newsletter here http://crime.cymru/
‘In two Minds’ and Alis Hawkins are 100% making an appearance or 2 this month, starting today, funnily enough!
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it!
