How thrilled was I to be asked if myself and budding blogger Miss F (youngest of the clan Bridgeman)would like to read the newest book by Anne Digby?
The answer is very !
I LOVED her Trebizon books as a young teen so we settled down and read together….
About the book
Princess Bee longs to be let out of the palace on her own, just for a day. Dressed up as an ordinary person! But the king and queen would NEVER allow such a thing. Her dream seems impossible until, one magical Monday, she gets the chance to escape at last. It’s her very first day off from being a princess and what a surprising day it turns out to be……
Take it away Miss F!
‘This book was very imaginative and also shows that you shouldn’t be afraid to show yourself. It was really good.’
We liked how Bee was always being told to prepare for being a royal person but she had no idea how her subjects lived. She had no concept of money or hardship but having the biggest heart allowed her to make promises which came true to those who she met on her adventure away from the palace.
Miss F sat rapt as I read the story-she is definitely old enough to read it as an independent reader, however, reading aloud to her was a lovely way to spend the afternoon and she listened intently for far longer than she normally does!
Thank you so much Anne!! (Miss F picked the cover image btw)!
About the author

She is best known for her Trebizon stories, which follow the progress of Rebecca Mason and a close-knit group of friends growing up together at a famous boarding school, while also including a strong mystery element. Anne’s love of mixing mystery with other genres is evident in many of her other books, including the Me, Jill Robinson! family series {highly recommended by The Good Book Guide to Children’s Books} and her Further Adventures of the Naughtiest Girl.
Other titles available on Amazon include the author’s debut novel, A Horse Called September.
