About the book…

‘Wolf Land’ by Jonathan Janz is released by Flametree Press on 14th March 2019 in paperback from wherever good books are sold!

“Jonathan Janz is an incredible writer and after reading Wolf Land, I can see why so many horror fans love his work.” – The Horror Bookshelf

Aside from a quaint amusement park, the small town of Lakeview offers little excitement for Duane, Savannah, and their friends. They’re about to endure their ten-year high school reunion when their lives are shattered by the arrival of an ancient, vengeful evil.
The werewolf.
The first attack leaves seven dead and four wounded. And though the beast remains on the loose and eager to spill more blood, the sleepy resort town is about to face an even greater terror. Because the four victims of the werewolf’s fury are changing. They’re experiencing unholy desires and unimaginable cravings. They’ll prey on the innocent and the depraved. They’ll settle old scores and act on their basest desires. Soon, they’ll plunge the entire town into nightmare.
Lakeview is about to become Wolf Land.

Imagine the bizarre lovechild of Richard Laymon and Shaun Hutson and you have somewhere near the literary hybrid talent which is Jonathan Janz.

Much as he did with ‘Savage Species’, he looks at the beast within-and without-in  the form of lycanthropy. What turns a person into a ravening beast is the stuff of lore and legend, however, it is a metaphorical beast as well as a literal one, that wreaks havoc on the small town of Lakeview.

It is very difficult to create a scary narrative-in the wrong hands it becomes repetitive or banal. At the same time, chucking blood and guts at the page is not going to keep the reader turning page after page, well past his-or her- bedtime. Jonathan Janz has style and substance in spades as he plots like a demon to submit his shaggy dog tale to paper.

And what a tale it is !

Best devoured raw and whole under a full moon….
