#BookishThoughts-Music to read books by!-A @Spotify playlist

Music has always been a part of my life, since I was very small. Each Sunday, my father would play selections from his extensive record collection and so I came to associate relaxing and reading with music, creating not always obvious links between time, and place as well as tunes referenced in the books themselves.

Bloggers such as Kelly Van Damme(@FomBelgiumWithBookLove) regularly post Music Mondays where they share a song that links to what the are reading, or just a song that they love, no reason other than that.

With this in mind, I have been looking at the link between reading and music.

After putting together a playlist of songs that kept me going through my dissertation, I began thinking about music lyrics which are quoted in, or are threaded through, books.

Your favourite, and mine, Stephen King, is a huge fan of putting pop culture references and songs into his works, as does his wife, novelist Tabitha King and sons Joe and Owen .

As a result, I have tried to compile a list of songs which either feature in, or relate to books!

It’s a public playlist so please feel free to add whichever songs are important to you, I have made a start (it’s mostly King based , so sue me!)
