About the book

A price on her head, and just 48 hours to expose the truth, and save her family…
Single-mother bounty hunter Lori Anderson has finally got her family back together, but her new-found happiness is shattered when she’s snatched by the Miami Mob, who they want her dead. But rather than a bullet, they offer her a job: find the Mob’s ‘numbers man’ – Carlton North – who’s in protective custody after being forced to turn federal witness against them. If Lori succeeds, they’ll wipe the slate clean and the price on her head – and those of her family – will be removed. If she fails, they die.
With only 48 hours before North is due to appear in court, Lori sets across Florida, racing against the clock to find him, and save her family.

‘They say you can’t run from your past and it’s true-especially when the past is a murdering, unforgiving asshole’

Oh god I so want to be on #TeamLori ! She is fearless, headstrong and super smart and takes zero shit from anyone-especially where her family is concerned.

Keenly aware of the trouble that being a bounty hunter can bring to her partner, JT and daughter, Dakota, Lori is minding her own business on the school run when she finds herself kidnapped.

Presented to Old Man Bonchese, the head of the Miami mob family, he has a proposition for her-locate Carlton North, his accountant being held by the FBI before his court date or her family dies.

The past has come back to bite Lori in a way she never imagined, this is seen as her repaying a debt she  never knew that she had incurred. Old Man considered her ex like a son, so when he died, Lori thought she wouldn’t hear from the mob again.

She was wrong.

Her street smarts, contacts and history as a bounty hunter lead her to make swift, sharp decisions that are as punchy as the short chapters in the book, lending it a sense of immediacy and time fleeing away from her.

The reader is immediately plunged into a plot as murky and infectious as any disease picked up in an Everglade swamp and has as much teeth as their infamous alligators.

What starts as a simple location of a witness turns into a much bigger story and Lori has to decide where her loyalties lie and how she can balance her moral decision making when the clock is against her and the fate of her family hangs in the balance.

At no point does Lori ever feel sorry for herself, she just gets on with the matters at hand and focuses on her end point-being alive and returning to JT and Dakota.

If you haven’t read either of the first 2 in  the Lori Anderson stories, it’s possible to read and enjoy this third outing but after finishing Deep Dirty Truth you will want to read them all!
