Thank you to Anne Cater, of Random Things Tours, for inviting me on the Crime Scen Books published,

‘The Beautiful Side Of The Moon’ by Leye Adenle

About the book…

Marking an exciting new departure by award-winning Nigerian author
Leye Adenle (Easy Motion Tourist, When Trouble Sleeps), The Beautiful
Side of the Moon raises an entirely unexpected and intriguing question –
what would happen if God went on holiday?
In order to get a better understanding of what it’s like to be human,
and to taste humanity’s joys and sorrows, God decides to have a holiday as a human being. During the course of his time off, though, he
completely forgets that he’s God, which leads to some utterly unpredictable outcomes…
A delightful, playful, thoughtful adventure in speculative fiction by one
of Nigeria’s most exciting new writers.

This book has a strong resemblance to Neil Gaiman’s ‘American Gods’ and I make that comparison as a compliment!

It is grand wothout being whimsical, totally present in its Lagos setting yet timeless and universal, strong in its masculine narrative yet does not neglect or minimise the women in the story.

Melding old gods with new stories, Leye has created something truly memorable that sweeps you away and enriches you with that experience. I don’t want to reveal too much, but it starts with a letter that pulls IT consultant Osaretin out of his complacency and into a myth making ,dimension straddling adventure which is pure magic.

It is delivered in a red envelope, promises to teach Osaretin magic, and is signed by Brother Moses, a ‘significant magician of the second to the highest level of all magicians’.

Osaretin is forced to examine his relationship with his father, who was himself a magician, and a great propehcy which has hidden, in plain sight, the most powerful magician of all time.

Danger , death and timetravel ensue with a varied and wonderful cast of characters that you warm to very quickly. I highy recommend this original and vibrant book!

Absolutely loved it thank you so much Anne for the blogtour invite!
