My thanks to the wonderful and super patient Hannah from Midas PR, who asked if I would be involved in a cover reveal of this upcoming thriller, ‘White Dog’ by Rupert Whewell
It is due to be published on the 18th November in paperback and e-book formats, by Whitefox Publishing, so get the orders in now*!
*I am telling people that books may be part of the ‘Christmas consumer panic buying of 2021’ to get them to grab books/pre-order as much as they can, just to be on the safe side, it’s a public service imho!
So, what is White Dog about?
White Dog is a literary thriller set against the backdrop of the contemporary art world. It follows the fortunes of Ryder, a cynical art dealer who aspires to the heights, yet despises the people who populate those realms. On his way to the top, back down, and back up again, Ryder encounters a picaresque collection of characters and gets drawn into a web of intrigue that involves murder, money-laundering and materialism. But can his new-found fame and fortune ever make up for the loss of the one thing he ever really valued in life?
White Dog will take you on a roller-coaster ride of sex, drugs and art – of violence, blackmail, hedonism and dark politics.
Are you ready to face the wolves?
Sounds very thrilling and perfect for this time of year, right?
This is Rupert, whose first, and only novel, is sadly being published posthumously
Rupert Whewell was born in 1969 in Buckinghamshire. He attended Clifton College, Bristol and then graduated with a degree in English literature from Downing College, Cambridge, in 1992, writing his dissertation on ’How unconsequential are Sterne’s writings?’ After a short time working in advertising in Hong Kong, he settled on a career as a Recruitment Consultant. He established his own firm, Bateman Gray in London in 2003 specialising in placing bankers.
He enjoyed reading and kept abreast of contemporary literature and art. His parents moved to Scotland where his love of hill walking was born. He was a good sportsman with skiing and climbing eventually becoming his way of life. Chamonix became his second home. He counted skiing down Mont Blanc as one of his greatest triumphs. He loved the Alps and rode 2 Etapes de Tour, one of which took in Alpe d’Huez. Golf was also a sport he enjoyed and continued throughout his life.
With his 50th birthday looming he joined a group setting out to climb peaks in the Nanda Devi area of India in May 2019. An avalanche brought about his early death in the Himalayas, together with the loss of his seven climbing companions. He is survived by his mother Elaine, brother Andrew and sister Lisa having no children of his own. “White Dog” was his first novel, published posthumously.
Let’s do Rupert and his family proud, by checking out his book.
And here, without further ado, is the cover-

That cover is gorgeous and so clever!
I , for one, am looking forward to reading ‘White Dog’, and hope you do too.
