Huge thanks to the fan Jennifer Breslin who has shared the details of the forthcoming novel, ‘Meredith,Alone’ by Claire Alexander.
Due to be published by Penguin in e-book, audiobook and hardcover in June 2022, there isn’t one bit about this novel that doesn’t scream ‘Read Me!’
So what is this novel about?
Let’s see….
Meredith Maggs hasn’t left her house in 1,214 days. But she insists she isn’t alone . . .
She has her cat Fred. Her friend Sadie visits when she can. There’s her online support group, StrengthInNumbers. She has her jigsaws, favourite recipes, her beloved Emily Dickinson, the internet, the Tesco delivery man and her treacherous memories for company.
But something’s about to change. Whether Meredith likes it or not, the world is coming to her door . . . Does she have the courage to overcome what’s been keeping her inside all this time?
The overcoming of personal challenges, who and what defines being alone versus lonely, the societal pressure to have the perfect life…all of this is played against the very difficult situations we have all had to deal with since March 2020.
It sounds heart-warming, uplifting and deeply meaningful all in one go.
And it is available for pre-order now.
Here is the gorgeous cover

I absolutely love how stark the cover is, the contrast between the colours and how it says so much, with so little. And that font is possibly one of my faves!
Anyone know what it is called? I am a complete sucker for that 70’s vibe !
Let me know of this tickles your bookish fancy, I am so looking forward to meeting Meredith, and adding this to my 2022 TBR
