Hugest of thanks to Midas PR for the gifted review copy of ‘Inner Alchemy :The Path Of Mastery Revised and Updated’  published by LightEn on May 29th!

This is a truly in depth exploration of the human potential to access an understanding of themselves, the world in which they inhabit, and how to exist on a higher plain of consciousness.

Beautifully illustrated throughout, this is part manual, part guidebook and part autobiography, which seeks to illuminate, enlighten and entertain.

Through meditation exercises, guidance and the use of physics , Zulma takes the reader step by step into a world of energy points, chakras and so much more. Visualisation, breathing exercises and stopping to get off the whirlwind carousel of daily life has never been more important. As a nurse, I have to confess at being the absolute worst at taking time for myself. At first, this book seemed inaccessible and baffling, I just could not connect with it at all.

Then, I slowed down and started by just examining the illustrations. I returned to the start, read the contents page, and started again. This is not a workbook for you to treat like a manual, though in one respect it is-if you imagine your spiritual self as a bit of a run down car in need of TLC, and Inner Alchemy as a Haynes manual, you are kind of on the right path. With all the focus on bodily autonomy, health and physical fitness, we are at risk of ignoring our mental and psychological wellbeing. Here is an opportunity to slow down, reach in and tap hidden reserves which serve to foster a sense of emotional wellbeing in an increasingly toxic world.

It is a book I will return to again and again, it is an opportunity for reflection, quiet and meditation in a world which rushes you from one place to the next without breathing space. In work I am constantly trying to focus on holistic care and complaining that the amount of bundles and paperwork we have a legal obligation to complete, constantly overlooks the emotional wellbeing of staff and patients alike.it deconstructs us into our component parts-urine output, skin integrity, musculoskeletal issues and so on. I believe we ignore our spiritual wellbeing, and I say this as someone who does not believe in an organised religion or a god, at the cost of our peace of mind.
