About the book..

First published in 1992, this is the third instalment of an 18 book series which celebrates the game ‘Clue’ (known as ‘Cluedo’ in the UK) and the accompanying cult film classic of the same name.
I have always been obsessed with murder mysteries, so when I found out about this, after falling down a rabbit hole begun by the below blog post (Thanks Novel Lives, I bought the book!) I retired to the library (the corner of the dining room) and set about making lists.
Only available in paperback via second hand booksellers, I decided to track them down, one at a time-limited budget you know, some are on sale for silly money!) This series , therefore, will be run erratically as each one arrives chez moi, but eventually I will have read all the books. At some future point , future me is thrilled at posting the last review!! Go future me!
At the bottom of each post is a link to an article or review of the newest Clue novel-trilogy opener ‘In The Hall With The Knife’– and a booktube review from Arglefumph Reads!
Who helped the cat burglar open the safe?
-Was it Miss Scarlet in the Lounge with the Candlestick?
-Was it Colonel Mustard in the Dining Room with the Revolver?
-Was it Mrs. Peacock in the Ball Room with the Knife?
Mr. Boddy has invited his six best friends to be guests at his mansion for the weekend. When this weird and wacky crew get together, anything can happen. Follow along with their antics as you match up characters and crimes. Exciting mind-bending mini-mysteries to test your ability as a sleuth!
About the author…
The annonymous AE Parker and his/her co-authors remain, at present, a big fat ENIGMA!
Who are they? And why so hard to track down?
If anyone knows who was behind this series, please comment and put me out of my misery!
I have emailed Scholastic so one day, maybe this will get updated!
On this occasion,Mr Boddy has invited his 5 friends-Mrs White is the maid of the house-to stay with him for the weekend.
10 mini mysteries, each with a solution printed upside down at the end of the chapter, give a humorous an plausible explanation for why no on actually died-it’s a kids book after al!
Part of the fun is the snarky asides, thesurreptitious sneaky of familiar item into pockets, and working out what happens when the lights go out.
The mysteries are neat and fun, you toally fell that you have walked into a feature length game of ‘Cluedo’,and I genuinely enjoyed it as a break between heavier reads.
I would recommend it for anyone who like the classic film,or game, and just enjoys some light relief when mired in a book slump.
